Caliper Business Card
Caliper Business Card

Hey if you really want to see how your card measures up (pun) check out this caliper business card. This is a cool card for those who are concerned with size. Okay make up your own jokes.  I like clever cards particulalry if the cleverness relates to the business. This is a nice idea for engineers and others in engineering related industries or fields.  Also jewelers and maybe blueberry farmers.

For those of you who are not sure what a caliper is thanks to nextclass.net I got this definition: caliper – an instrument with two legs or jaws that can be adjusted for measuring linear dimensions, thicknesses, or diameters.

To utilize this template you will need the use of a laser cutter. It’s possible you may have a laser cutter at your business. If so have at it.  Here is a link to the website with the information http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:782 . If you do not have a laser cutter here is a blog article I found where some young genius will show you how to make your own automated laser cutter for under fifty dollars.  http://tiny.cc/2zf5x.

I thought it might be possible to print this caliper business card out and cut it with a pair of scissors or an exacto razor but it’s a bit challenging to get the size just right and I do not believe that it can be printed on standard preperforated business card stock as the template is a bit larger than the card once you get the measurement correct.   Perhaps those of you with a bit more artistic and graphic talent can make that idea work. If you have anything to add feel free to comment below or pass this on to an interested friend.  Any way you cut it – – this is a fun business card.
